About Bruce

My name is Bruce Dachis, but most everyone calls me Buzzy. I live in the LynLake area with my wife, Rebecca, and my step-daughter, Madison. I also have two adult children, Adam and Ali.

 

I am running to represent Ward 10 on the Minneapolis City Council because our current crime levels are unacceptable. I believe residents should feel safe and secure in their homes and on our streets. I am running to make that a reality for all.

I was born and spent my entire life in the Twin Cities. Aside from my primary roles as a husband and a father, I am a small business owner who has operated businesses in the Uptown area since 1984.

 

In my real estate business, I work with large and small companies ranging from Cub Foods and Chase bank to the mom-and-pop shops that I currently office with in LynLake. I take great pride in helping these businesses develop the properties they need to make the communities they serve stronger. I am also proud that a significant part of my work is with women and minority-owned and operated businesses.

 

Aside from my interest in developing healthy, diverse and equitable communities, I am also passionate about climate change and reducing emissions. I don’t just talk the talk. I walk the walk. I drive an electric vehicle and live in a low-emission, energy-efficient home. 

 

In my free time, I enjoy working out in the gym with my nephews or being on the pickle ball court with my wife, Rebecca.  I also have six siblings, with whom I share strong family ties.

 

I care deeply about the livelihood and future of Minneapolis.
